Duration
5 days theory and 2 days in practical skills with a pest control firm. Students who can't gain hands-on experience with a pest company will be required to attend classes organised by Safeguard Pest Management Training.
This course covers:

Legislation regarding public health pest control

How to choose and use insecticide and rodenticide formulas

Safety: Personal protective equipment (PPI) and pesticide application equipment

Handling, storage and transporting pesticides

Pest management of foxes, feral cats, possums, birds, mice, and rats (vertebrate pests animals)

Control of pest insects such as cockroaches, wasps, ants, fleas, and spiders.

New developments in active ingredients, formulations and application techniques

• 'Hands-on' insect identification including a variety of pest specimens
